It is THAT time of year people! We know how you LOVE our gift guides, so this year get ready for our Stocking Stuffer Gift Guide 2021!
Danni and I were recently on a girls trip in Mexico and talk turned to Christmas (as it does ,when you are sitting on a beach staring at the waves) – wait, WHAT?? Yes – we started talking about Christmas and how difficult it is to be creative with stocking stuffers for our grown up kids. Let’s face it – girls are SO easy. You can buy for them forever – but its not cheap. And BOYS – what on earth to you get them that they are going to appreciate and use – that isn’t junky.
I complained that I am just all over the place with my stockings. I start October-ish keeping an eye out for little, special things and by December 24th I have a massive bin – half of which I have forgotten about and much of which they don’t need or even want.
One of our friends had the brilliant idea of picking a theme for your stocking – which not only focuses you on something they need or love, but also steers you clear of random purchasing. We LOVED this idea and decided we would steal it for the blog, to help organize our stocking stuffer gift guide for 2021.
Every year our gift guides are BY FAR, the most popular posts on the blog – so let’s get right into it. Be sure to comment below if you have ideas you would like to share as well – we love hearing from you!
We’ve put together our last minute Valentine’s Day gift guide because let’s face it – whether you celebrate Valentine’s Day or not, this year, the people you love might need a little pick me up.
1. Because we all love something sweet
For just about anyone…
I actually LOVE anything sweet – and a new addition to Calgary’s chocolate market has us super excited. We love finding local gems! For a little something sweet why not check out TEN DEGREES CHOCOLATE and their Valentine’s Chocolate Pack. For under $10 you can pick out a cute Valentine’s pick me up for anyone you treasure.
2. Because there is no better time than NOW to learn to cook
For the Young Adult…
I actually picked up this cookbook as a stocking stuffer for my eldest and guess what? A few days ago I actually got a text saying he’s tried a few of the recipes and they were big hits. I figure any book that gets my son into the kitchen MUST be great. And at 21 they don’t really want a Valentine from mom anyways!
Have you heard? I guess these snuggly hoodies are all the rage – a true blanket you can wear 😉 and with temps hitting the high minus 20’s this week here in YYC, we are all about anything that screams “cozy.”
Have a friend who is struggling – or just someone you want to show a little extra love to this February 14th? Why not celebrate “Galentine’s Day” this year with a Canadian designer from a local boutique in YYC. Era Style Loft has a ton of great options for your bestie, but the new Jenny Bird Love collection is sweet, edgy and a terrific price point.
Why not surprise your mom this year with a Valentine? Most of us are feeling the distance these days – and who doesn’t love a beautifully packaged candle with a nod to the special Valentine’s rose. Yes please!! Beautifully packaged, what better way to show mom you love her?
6. Because our girls need a little love these days
For the teen / tween girl
At Christmas, I stumbled across a few items I “thought” my teen would love, but when I purchased them – I didn’t realize just what a hit they would be. These days, with all of our time at home, and our teens living a considerably more solitary life, this guided journal – which asks both tough and fun questions is a great way for our teen girls to get out their thoughts and feelings.
While they continue their social distanced entertaining on the back deck (scotch and cigars anyone?), why not some cool “outdoor slippers to keep them warm and trendy? Buy a pair for yourself and join him for a glass of vino alfresco…
However you choose to celebrate – take the day to CONSCIOUSLY tell those you love how much they mean to you and hold them close in your heart if you can’t physically. If we’ve learned anything this past year, it is certainly that.

As promised, here is our SHOP LOCAL for the HOLIDAYS gift guide!
We are heading towards the end of November people, which means your holiday shopping should be somewhere on your radar, if you haven’t started yet. Danni and I find that the Mojo and Moxie holiday gift guides are MOST REQUESTED – so this year we are gifting YOU with not just one – but two super unique guides to help you on your way…
If you missed it – we started November off with a bang with our 2020 Gift Guide for Teen and Young Adult Girls. Of course, with the introduction of that – we got the usual requests for gift ideas for teen boys, husbands, and just general uniqueness…
Well – this year we felt compelled to create a “Shop Local” list of some of our fav. shops here in YYC. Our local businesses need us terribly right now, and we want to support them, and a thriving economy in our hometown.
If you don’t live in Calgary – don’t panic – many of the retailers we’ve mentioned below have fantastic online stores AND the benefit of shopping with a small business is that if you give them a call – they are more than likely to have support, advice, and products you need and will get them to you with a smile.
I know, I know – it is only November 3 and here we are stressing you out with your gift guide for teen and young adult girls ALREADY!
If you haven’t already noticed, things are looking a little different this year – and this, unfortunately, is going to include the holidays. We have already been warned by many retailers that if there is any year to get your shopping (and shipping) done early – this is the year. I’ve even heard the term “SHIPAGEDDON” tossed around.
While we’ve covered girls in our various gift guides – like our Perfect Holiday Gift Guide for HER we have yet to cover our teen and young adult girls on their own.
While I used to feel that I could buy for my daughter endlessly – and always came up with cool things she didn’t even think of, these days I am finding my “cool factor” is definitely waning.
In fact, both Danni and I consulted our girls to help us this year – making sure we came up with the perfect gift guide for teen and young adult girls. If you are a mom – and you got this, you may want to forward this on to an Aunt or Grandma who really needs the help 🙂
Here are 10 items – in various price brackets we think your girls will love this holiday season.
Keurig Single Cup Coffee Maker – from $111.80 CAD
Our teen girls can be CRAAANNNKKY – and if you have one that needs her morning coffee – she will love this cute little Keurig. Perfect for her dorm room – or if she can’t be civil until her first jolt of caffeine, for her bedroom 🙂
Sol de Janeiro EDP Cheirosa ’62 Holiday Fragrance Set $102.00 CAD
My daughter fell in love with this scent a couple of years ago when the “Brazilian Bum Bum” cream was all the rage. A delicious, tropical scent – this is light and transports you to a far away beach holiday – and we could ALL use that these days. This is offered in a cute gift set this year, with one for the purse (or backpack) and one for her vanity. The big questions is – when will they come out with a hand sanitizer?
This cute little printer gives your teens the opportunity to print pictures straight from their phones – perfect for decorating their dorm room or bedroom. It weighs only one pound and is super portable – perfect for girls night out. Surprise them with this, and let their creativity soar.
Over the past several years, YouTube and Insta stars have been tapped to produce creative, colourful eye palettes for the makeup lover. The latest offering from the cult following makeup line MORPHE is the Madison Beer collection. Even if she has palettes from years past, you can never go wrong with this brand. We have found anything from Morphe is always a hit.
My daughter has always been a little scared of the dark. She’s got funky nightlights strategically placed in her room in case of a late night bathroom pit stop and is a fond lover of the Amazon neon strip lights (added bonus, find these HERE. ) This is a fun idea for “lighting their way” to the bathroom and to encourage hand washing. We all know they might be sick of hearing about it by now – but why not make it fun while we are at it? This is a great secret Santa gift, or stocking stuffer too 🙂
The classics’s always seem to come back in style and while you might not think a teen girl would be inclined to wear a satin PJ, we are here to say otherwise! These Victoria’s Secret satin PJ’s will be a hit for Christmas PJ’s or a sleepover. They are comfy, cute and just sophisticated enough to still be cool. My daughter has a version of these that I find in her laundry basket every week – they are her go-to pj’s for a pajama party or hanging at home. Get them soon – these always sell out.
There are MANY varieties to choose from – from the uber girly aesthetic to sporty and anything in between. These are fun to add to a gift, or have on hand as an inexpensive gift for your daughter’s friend group. Remember how we used to decorate our binders? Yes? Well – this is the 2020 version of that…
We all want to work out when we’ve got something cool to wear to the gym, right? Dani’s daughter LOVES these workout threads – cool, comfy and stylish. I personally want this ombre top – the back is gathered showing off just enough skin and is super flattering. This is a unique workout brand for the gal that wants something different from everyone else…
Girls love their rooms to smell delish. Why not encourage that with a beautiful diffuser and some special essential oils? Sage has oils specific to sleep, concentration (ahem, exams are coming) and relaxation, just to name a few. We love this diffuser and its calming glow. Just what our girls need to create a calming, haven in the midst of all the drama that is adolescence.
So – there you have it – a few ideas and a gift guide for teen and young adult girls in your life. These items are all available online for shipping directly to you and are not specifically local to YYC. BUT, if you are from our neck of the woods, we understand that you want to shop local too and support businesses in our area. SO – watch for our LOCAL “Stocking Stuffer” gift guide in the new few weeks.
We know you have many to check off your list this year – so don’t forget to check out our other gift guides
