It is THAT time of year people! We know how you LOVE our gift guides, so this year get ready for our Stocking Stuffer Gift Guide 2021!
Danni and I were recently on a girls trip in Mexico and talk turned to Christmas (as it does ,when you are sitting on a beach staring at the waves) – wait, WHAT?? Yes – we started talking about Christmas and how difficult it is to be creative with stocking stuffers for our grown up kids. Let’s face it – girls are SO easy. You can buy for them forever – but its not cheap. And BOYS – what on earth to you get them that they are going to appreciate and use – that isn’t junky.
I complained that I am just all over the place with my stockings. I start October-ish keeping an eye out for little, special things and by December 24th I have a massive bin – half of which I have forgotten about and much of which they don’t need or even want.
One of our friends had the brilliant idea of picking a theme for your stocking – which not only focuses you on something they need or love, but also steers you clear of random purchasing. We LOVED this idea and decided we would steal it for the blog, to help organize our stocking stuffer gift guide for 2021.

We are heading towards the end of November people, which means your holiday shopping should be somewhere on your radar, if you haven’t started yet. Well – this year we felt compelled to create a “Shop Local” list of some of our fav. shops here in YYC. Our local businesses need us terribly right now, and we want to support them, and a thriving economy in our hometown.
If you don’t live in Calgary – don’t panic – many of the retailers we’ve mentioned below have fantastic online stores AND the benefit of shopping with a small business is that if you give them a call – they are more than likely to have support, advice, and products you need and will get them to you with a smile.

If you haven’t already noticed, things are looking a little different this year – and this, unfortunately, is going to include the holidays. We have already been warned by many retailers that if there is any year to get your shopping (and shipping) done early – this is the year. I’ve even heard the term “SHIPAGEDDON” tossed around.
While we’ve covered girls in our various gift guides – like our Perfect Holiday Gift Guide for HER we have yet to cover our teen and young adult girls on their own.
While I used to feel that I could buy for my daughter endlessly – and always came up with cool things she didn’t even think of, these days I am finding my “cool factor” is definitely waning.
In fact, both Danni and I consulted our girls to help us this year – making sure we came up with the perfect gift guide for teen and young adult girls. If you are a mom – and you got this, you may want to forward this on to an Aunt or Grandma who really needs the help 🙂

We have found anything from Morphe is always a hit.
My daughter has always been a little scared of the dark. She’s got funky nightlights strategically placed in her room in case of a late night bathroom pit stop and is a fond lover of the Amazon neon strip lights (added bonus, find these HERE. ) This is a fun idea for “lighting their way” to the bathroom and to encourage hand washing. The classics’s always seem to come back in style and while you might not think a teen girl would be inclined to wear a satin PJ, we are here to say otherwise! These Victoria’s Secret satin PJ’s will be a hit for Christmas PJ’s or a sleepover. They are comfy, cute and just sophisticated enough to still be cool. My daughter has a version of these that I find in her laundry basket every week – they are her go-to pj’s for a pajama party or hanging at home. Get them soon – these always sell out.
There are MANY varieties to choose from – from the uber girly aesthetic to sporty and anything in between. These are fun to add to a gift, or have on hand as an inexpensive gift for your daughter’s friend group. Remember how we used to decorate our binders? Yes? Well – this is the 2020 version of that…
